Hey guys! Long time no see. Remember when I used to make cool stuff and post about it. Those were the days, huh? Seriously, it feels like it’s been all work and no play around here for so long! I guess that’s what happens when you’ve played for so long without any work. Let this be a lesson to you, kids. It eventually catches up to you!

I’ve been tackling some pretty big cleaning projects around the house and I just had to share this one… Best Ever Grout Cleaner! It’s super easy and I can’t believe the difference it made! Who knew I had light colored grout. Ha! Ew.

Best Ever Grout Cleaner

All you need is this little gem…

Best Ever Grout CLeaner

You can find the cleaner at your local grocery store or if you’re like me and you avoid the grocery store like the plague, you can always order it online.

No mixing or anything, just fill your grout lines with this stuff and let it sit for 10-15 minutes. After it sat for awhile, I used a toothbrush to scrub the grout, then let it sit for another 5 minutes. Then, I used my mop with just water to clean up what was left of the cleaner. That’s it! This really is the best EVER grout cleaner

Next up on my to-do list: EVERYTHING…including my bathrooms. Check out the BEST tub and shower cleaner [HERE]! I promise, you’ll love it. I mean as much as a person can love anything associated with cleaning, I guess.

For every day messes, check out my easy DIY All Purpose Cleaner, too!

When you get sick of staring at grout lines, come party with me on Instagram! There’s a lot less cleaning on there and a whole lot more party. Less cleaning, more party… Words to live by, folks! 😉

I’m doing this right now. It’s amazing how good this works. I’m taking little sections at a time, so it’s really easy and if it takes a few days to do, it will be totally worth it. Thanks for this great cleaning tip!

I’m so glad it worked for you! I did the same thing and it took me about 3 days to finish my whole kitchen/dining area. Thanks for reading! XOXO

Kari– After the grout is cleaned, do you know of a GOOD sealant to put on the grout so you don’t have to scrub it again?

    • Kari April 28, 2016 at 5:03 pm

I honestly have never sealed mine. I need to! I found this page that is super informative and gives reviews for a bunch of different sealants. I hope it helps! :)

Thanks a bunch! I’ll check it out.

Did you find the cleaner tinted your tile at all?

    • Kari April 28, 2016 at 5:04 pm

It didn’t tint mine at all, but I have used a similar cleaner on my toilets that is a darker blue and it turned my toilet bowls blue for awhile.

Hey, crazy question, but my grout is dark grey, should I try this? I don’t mind if it lightens, as long as it’s clean… I have several “untrained” furry babies!! Lol😩

    • Kari May 3, 2016 at 6:42 pm

I think it will definitely clean it, but it might lighten it a little too. Maybe just test it in a small area first to see what it does. Good luck! :)

Thanks so much!!!! I will try a spot tonight and let ya know😊

I have read, but haven’t tried Woolite Rug Cleaner works on tile grout.

  • Ashley Loftin June 7, 2016 at 3:13 am

I wish I could post a picture of how well this worked! I have been looking at dirty grout for so long, how did I not know this before now!

    • Kari June 7, 2016 at 3:18 am

I’m so glad it worked for you!! I wish I could see! Maybe you can share it in my fb page …

    • Christina June 28, 2016 at 7:40 pm

I actually tried the Woolite rug cleaner on our tan grout and it didn’t work. At all. :(
I’ve since started using Polyblend grout renew from Home Depot and like it.
But I’m definitely going to give the Clorox toilet cleaner a try!

  • Jan July 7, 2016 at 5:56 pm

I tried this and it did not work. I left it on there for 15 min, went over it with a toothbrush, let it sit another 5, and nothing. Looks exactly the same.

    • Kari July 7, 2016 at 6:01 pm

Dang! I’m not sure why it didn’t work for you. Is it still wet? Grout looks darker when it’s wet, maybe let it dry all the way and see if it did the trick.

      • Jan July 7, 2016 at 6:18 pm

It’s still wet right now. I’ll wait a bit and see what happens.

  • Mary N July 10, 2016 at 8:54 pm

This was amazing! Better than any commercial grout cleaner that I’ve tried.

    • Kari July 18, 2016 at 12:43 am

Woohoo! I’m so glad it worked for you!! :)

  • Jackie July 10, 2016 at 8:58 pm

Will this work on my tile grout in the bathroom?
    I can’t stand it anymore!

    • Kari July 18, 2016 at 12:42 am

It should! I used it in my bathroom and it worked great!

I have used this and could not believe on how cleaned my grout was. Looked like NEW.

  • Debbie Budd August 6, 2016 at 4:23 pm

Btw our tile guy doesnt recommend a sealer. He had us put lemon oil in a squirt bottle and squirt it along the grout.

  • Leslie mckern August 13, 2016 at 11:47 am

Perfect simple idea- I am going to try it. Last time I used comet- let it sit, it worked well but clean up more difficult.

  • Susan August 30, 2016 at 6:32 pm

Will it work in my shower wall? I’ve tried a lot of grout cleaners but it just runs down the walls

    • Kari August 31, 2016 at 8:20 pm

It should work… It will probably still run down, but the liquid is pretty thick so enough of it should stay in the grout lines to do the job. :)
