This homemade pumpkin spice maple syrup is just as good as it sounds, and even easier to make!
Breakfast is my favorite meal of the day and the most important, or so I’m told. There isn’t a single breakfast food that I don’t like, but my favorite is definitely french toast.
Yesterday, I made some French toast for me and the little ones and used the easiest recipe known to man to make some delicious homemade maple syrup. My mom used to make this syrup all the time when I was growing up and it’s SO good! Aunt Jemimah doesn’t stand a chance, y’all.
Here’s what you’ll need:
In a pan, combine sugar, karo syrup and water and bring to a boil.
Boil for 2 minutes.
Remove from heat and stir in maple extract.
That’s it. You’re done.
Unless of course, you’re feeling real festive and fancy. In which case, go ahead and sprinkle a little bit of this goodness into the mixture while it’s boiling! After all, ’tis the season for pumpkin spice errrrrythang!
You could also add this Pumpkin Pie Spice to your egg mixture before making your french toast.
Put it on your bacon, too! Your milk, your bath water… Your gas tank, even. Pumpkins spice ALL the things!
Sincerely the most basic of all the girls,
